About Cressing Temple

Cressing Temple is a scheduled ancient monument in Essex.  Dating back to the Knights Templar in the 12th century, it is home to the two finest Templar barns in Europe.

The fabulous buildings are the backdrop for The Essex Art & Design Show.

 

How to get here

Cressing Temple Barns is situated on the B1018 between Braintree and Witham.

To get to Cressing Temple from the A12 take the Witham exit and follw the B1018 out through the town centre towards Braintree.  Cressing Temple is on the right about 5 minutes drive from Witham.

If you are coming from the A120 then follow the brown signs to Freeport, until you see Cressing Temple's own brown Tourist Signs  .

The event will be clearly signposted with both brown 'tourism' and yellow AA signs.

Parking

There is ample free parking within easy walking distance of the barns.

 

General Information

Cressing Temple are ancient buildings with many uneven floors, so please take great care. 

Sorry but there is a policy that only assistance dogs are allowed on this historic site.

 

Disabled Access

Cressing Temple is fully accessible to wheelchair users and guide dogs are welcome.
